The visuals are not overly complex, but they look good and framerate is excellent. There is enough variety that I’m not sick of looking at them and I still poke into corners looking for secrets. Overall, very nice!

Audio is fine, but hasn’t been a significant part of the game, at least in my experience.

Controls are very crisp and responsive, and for what kind of game this ultimately is, this is a must. Happily, Deadzone absolutely nails this.

I’ve had no stability issues, it’s been rock solid. This is how you do games, other developers, please take note.

---

Visuals are grimy, usually rain-soaked and remind me strongly of Blade Runner. This is a good thing, and the one place where Peripeteia really shines.

Audio is a bit meh, there are a lot of places where the background sound is on a too-short loop, which makes it hard to ignore the fact that is looping. Looped audio is a pretty standard thing in games, and I’m not knocking that, but if your loop is less than like 5 seconds, it gets really hard not to notice it.

Controlling Marie is straightforward and works extremely well. That’s good, because although I didn’t get very far along, it seems clear to me that parkour is going to figure strongly as I progress.

The game is solid as a rock, and gave me no troubles anywhere. I’ve only put about an hour into it, but that feels like enough to say it seems stable since it worked perfectly for that hour.

This game feels like what it is, a love letter to Looking Glass games like Thief and others. It has fantastic atmosphere, and if it gets some polish to deal with a few warts, it might grow up into something amazing.

The area is pretty huge, but the structures are all so empty - this gives a sense of artificiality that some miscellaneous debris, furniture, etc. would really offset. I expect this to get attention as time goes on.

It’s good to remember that this title is still Early Access, so depending on how active the developers are, things could really change.

The same Snowdrop bug that plagued my experience with Star Wars: Outlaws was corrected by the upgrade to Debian trixie, so I’ve completed the game now.

I dialed the graphical settings down a bit to ease pressure on my video card (I don’t like playing while a jet taxis through my room). Once that was done, I had a nice, tight 60fps and gentle fans. Visuals are still amazing, and since it’s Pandora they could stand to be backed off a bit anyway (Pandora is famously complex and stuffed with bright colors).

The audio is good, consistent, and straightforward. Small details like conversations and footsteps are rendered well and contribute nicely to the immersion.

I’m playing with mouse &amp; keyboard, as is my usual preference, and it’s really solid. You parkour quite a bit in Pandora, and most of the time something toothy is chasing you as you do so, so I’m happy to report that the controls work quite well.

It turns out the microtransactions are just an annoyance, you can just go around them and move on with your life. It would obviously be better if they weren’t there, but I didn’t find them to be obstructive.

The progression system was weird to me. You don’t really grow in the typical RPG sense, although you do have skills you can spend points on, but the really important part is your gear. Your quests have a numeric value assigned to them, and your character is considered unable or unsafe to undertake a quest if your own numeric value is lower. But raising your value is accomplished strictly by upgrading your gear. This sounds benign, but I found it obtuse, frustrating and deeply unclear. Mostly, I didn’t enjoy it, but I learned enough of how it works to finish the game.

---

Erenshor is a low-poly game, pretty deliberately, so don’t expect too much on that front, but you can forget that pretty quickly. The world is good to look at and the typical MMO blizzard of flashing, sparking, particle chaos will keep you entertained (those who have played MMOs will know what I’m talking about).

The highest graphical settings will actually push your card more than a bit, but there are a lot of dials you can turn to get things where you like them.

Audio in Erenshor is a bit lacking, but the usual disclaimers about how the title is Early Access still apply. The developers are making pretty constant changes and shipping updates, so watch this space.

The controls were a bit different from what I expected, because a lot of the time you get click-to-move, and Erenshor does not do that. It opts for a straightforward WASD approach, and it works very well. After ten minutes or so of play I was perfectly comfortable.

I spent a lot of time trying to think of how to explain the gameplay, but honestly Erenshor is trying to mimic old-school MMO in every way, and if you have any experience with those, then you already know what to expect. It’s more modern in many ways (such as graphics), but the core is consistently in line with the MMO aesthetic.

In a way that’s hard to explain, the game gives a strong sense that it has been polished to a high sheen in terms of stability. Each playthrough I’ve gone through has been extraordinarily smooth and solid. It’s just a rock.

I really liked the early game, but the further I went, the slower and farther apart everything got. I think a lot of players would be annoyed at the graphics as being too low-poly, but it really worked for me.

Audio was fine, no awards here but perfectly serviceable. Not much else to say.

Controls were very solid and snappy, and this is good because this bills itself as a stealth game, but in practice it had an awful lot of parkour sections. This could easily be because I am a moron and let them catch me too often, but hey, YMMV.

Gameplay was fine, my only real objection was there were an awful lot of places where you would find something that would teach you some lore, but that would be the end of it. You would likely never again hear about that thing or how it relates. Again, this could be my fault but in my defense, it did happen kind of a lot.

In terms of stability, Ereban was an absolute rock. I played it over a few days, and it was totally solid performance throughout.

You’ll want to force Steam to use the Proton build (I chose Experimental) and then you will get a good experience. The Linux native build was horrible. The frame rate was about 10-20 and visuals were awful. After switching to the Proton Experimental, I got a smooth 60fps with high quality settings.

With all that out of the way, the visual experience in Shadow of the Tomb Raider is carrying most of the load for what points I did give it. It is extraordinarily beautiful, and I can see why so many streamers use the benchmark tool in this game to showcase their video setup, it is really easy on the eyes.

Audio is pretty good, nothing jumps out at me as exceptional. I do like listening in on the bad guys as they talk to each other, beating the bushes and trying to find you.

I used mouse and keyboard, and this is a place where the game falls down. The camera actively fights you, trying to point you at things and make guesses about where you want to go (or more often, where it wants you to go). This is a small thing, but it was unpleasant, and I was happy to be done with it at the end.

As far as stability goes, the Proton experience of the game was a rock. It never crashed or did anything sketchy at all, my entire experience was solid.

Okay, so let me try to explain the part I hated without spoiling anything. Lara in this title is young, and still finding herself. That’s valid, and I don’t mean to dump on that, but some of her choices were absolutely idiotic and made no sense even when you take youth into account. She’d work so hard for a particular outcome, and then at the last second, change her mind and perform an action that invalidated the last three hours of gameplay. Remember, that was time *I* spent struggling with her, and the choice she made was not offered to me, she made it on her own. This happened more than once, ...</video:description><video:content_loc>https://cdn.f-h.co//pt.lnklnx.com-playlists/hls/d70bb6c8-cd94-470b-91f2-62dfe1dedac3/ff516d00-4e89-4d91-97fa-b9d95bc7207c-master.m3u8</video:content_loc><video:player_loc>https://pt.lnklnx.com/videos/embed/sybeG8WuRWMYfX7MfXGApn</video:player_loc><video:duration>132</video:duration><video:rating>0</video:rating><video:view_count>13</video:view_count><video:publication_date>2025-09-30T18:09:50.783Z</video:publication_date><video:tag>LinuxGaming</video:tag><video:tag>Third-Person</video:tag><video:tag>Adventure</video:tag><video:family_friendly>YES</video:family_friendly><video:uploader info="https://pt.lnklnx.com/c/linux_gameplay_clips/videos">Linux Gameplay Clips</video:uploader><video:live>NO</video:live></video:video></url><url><loc>https://pt.lnklnx.com/w/1XBePGDHvLrrN8NJdr2cqC</loc><video:video><video:thumbnail_loc>https://pt.lnklnx.com/lazy-static/thumbnails/d7c3f270-3f82-40f2-80f4-1793147ba443.jpg</video:thumbnail_loc><video:title>Otherskin (Demo)</video:title><video:description>This is a demo, so I did not do a matching review. The graphics have a cartoon feel to them, but it works very well and is very nice to look at. I have a decent video card, but I found that the default settings that the game auto-detected for me pushed my card, made my fans run, and left me with a frame rate that was low enough that I noticed it while playing. I lowered my settings down to “Medium” for most of the selections, and while it stopped my fans blasting and gave me a very robust frame rate, I didn’t see any visual degradation, so not sure what that was about.

I turned the music off, because I play how I like, thank you. Having done that, you get this lovely backdrop of birds and running water that is very well done. Footsteps are just right, and change depending on surface. While sound doesn’t play a major role in the game, it fits well and I had no complaints.

I can tell that this game was built from the ground up for controller, but I had no serious issue playing with mouse and keyboard (my preference). If that’s your jam, you should find your experience in the Shire very controller-friendly. Camera control was tight and sensible, even in places where I was concerned (like the interior of your house, where I worried the roof would clip through; this was an unfounded worry, it reacted just right).

The gameplay loop was good, with a little bit of pressure to make more dishes and explore less than I wanted, but it’s fictional pressure because you can cheerfully ignore it. In a testament to how well the developers implemented that social pressure, I still usually gave in and made dishes fast enough to keep my visitors happy, even though I knew I could blow them off.

Our absolute favorite! We try to branch out to not get bored with it and maybe find another great game but frankly even though we tried similar games (e.g., [Grounded](https://pt.lnklnx.com/w/1G2dinp8HMUa15Nt3gjc8d), Debris, ECO, Left 4 Dead, Left 4 Dead 2, DayZ, The Forest, Survive The Nights, SCUM, Fallout 76 and The Blackout Club), we always come back for more 7 Days!

Even when it still Early Access and named the versions ‘Alpha x’, it was more fun and more stable than a lot of other titles that are in full release. It's out of EA, but is still seeing new updates and plays great.

Both the base ‘vanilla’ game and the heavily modded versions are a blast, with a smooth difficulty and progression that is engaging and fun but keeps the pressure on. You rarely get to a point where you are unable to figure out what to do next - the “every 7 days you need to prepare for the horde” mechanic is hugely motivating and keeps you focused.

The multiplayer really changes things because you work closely as a team and share duties, like one team member handles the food supply while the other deals with construction. My wife and I only ever play as a team of two, but this should work just as well with larger teams. I suppose in theory you could try to play this way with strangers, but we don’t have any desire to do that.

Be sure to try the Darkness Falls mod!

There is also an option of PvP that other reviews indicate are fun but again, we have no interest in that.

We’ve spent thousands(!) of hours playing this, and yet it just never gets old. Whenever we try to branch out for a while and are disappointed in a new game our first reaction is to fire up a new 7 Days run through. The first few days are the best part, so this is...</video:description><video:content_loc>https://cdn.f-h.co//pt.lnklnx.com-playlists/hls/9ecde848-73e8-4011-9812-ee60ff337c8d/8b4fa531-66de-436f-b9df-33c1f22f2722-master.m3u8</video:content_loc><video:player_loc>https://pt.lnklnx.com/videos/embed/kBnu9YVnd3mqGH41AHdJSz</video:player_loc><video:duration>1577</video:duration><video:rating>5</video:rating><video:view_count>12</video:view_count><video:publication_date>2025-11-10T16:28:39.169Z</video:publication_date><video:tag>LinuxGaming</video:tag><video:tag>Post-Apocalyptic</video:tag><video:tag>First-Person</video:tag><video:tag>Horror</video:tag><video:tag>Co-Op</video:tag><video:family_friendly>YES</video:family_friendly><video:uploader info="https://pt.lnklnx.com/c/linux_gameplay_clips/videos">Linux Gameplay Clips</video:uploader><video:live>NO</video:live></video:video></url><url><loc>https://pt.lnklnx.com/w/tqcDKusND2pFerqDoHTuu5</loc><video:video><video:thumbnail_loc>https://pt.lnklnx.com/lazy-static/thumbnails/18bc2750-430f-49f6-aac5-178450c50246.jpg</video:thumbnail_loc><video:title>Schedule I</video:title><video:description>"From small-time dope pusher to kingpin - manufacture and distribute a range of drugs throughout the grungy city of Hyland Point. Okay, so “Schedule I” is currently one of those amazing unicorns. It’s still in Early Access and very likely will see a lot of changes, so it may be too soon to start running around shouting from the rooftops how fabulous it is, but at the moment it really is great!

My wife and I play together, and multiplayer is where it really shines.

Graphically, it uses moderately low-poly graphics, so it is very stable and smooth but still very nice to look at.

Gameplay is the most interesting mix of serious (making and distributing illegal narcotics, hence the name) and silly (the effects of the drugs you make include large heads, electric arcs, cyclops eyes, balding and so on).

You start out with nothing and work your way up to running a drug empire, all in this little town. It’s clear from the roadmap on the store page and the news announcements that much more is planned, but what’s here is incredibly well-thought-out.

The sound design is excellent, the character animation is smooth and shockingly well put together.

All the townsfolk have homes and jobs, and not only move logically between them but act sensibly, so if you convince a banker to buy from you, he won’t buy during work or near his workplace, but instead insists on meeting away from both home and work. The homeless guy, on the other hand, will cheerfully meet with you right at his tent.

The part that really amazes us is that this is all made by one person. For the amount of detail and thought that has gone into this, you would expect it has a full studio behind it, so seriously credit where due.

We cannot wait to see what the developer adds to it. It really impresses right now even in the state that it is in.

A little background here, I run Debian, and it turns out that something about Debian 12 (Bookworm) was the cause of the conflict with the Snowdrop engine. I upgraded to Debian 13 (Trixie) and I wondered if doing so might not have fixed it, so I reinstalled Outlaws and it just… works! Sweet!

I’ll also update my Steam review to be fair to the game, since I initially marked it not recommended. As it stands today, I definitely recommend it.

The visuals are superb, even though I turned them down a bit to get a smoother frame rate. Cities and settlements are complex, with small details like gently swinging wind chimes (or whatever passes for a wind chime in a Star Wars game), chatting citizens and wandering livestock. View distance is pretty amazing, and looks good both far and close.

Audio is very good and is consistent with a Star Wars experience (droid beeps, blaster fire, etc.)

The controls are a tiny bit off, and I think this is because it seems highly optimized for controller, and I am playing with mouse and keyboard. It’s not so bad as to be an issue, however, and aside from occasionally crashing my speeder because the layout is a bit odd, it’s not a big deal. Plus, I consider this a “me” problem because I bet it plays great with a controller.

Now to the meat of it. Outlaws is the first ever open world Star Wars game, so you would want to see a lot of detail and effort poured into it. That’s exactly what you get - this is a pretty authentic Star Wars experience, from cantinas to the marketplace, to the windblown settlements. The characters are properly representative, and both the urban and rural ambiance is spot on. As an open world game, you have the typical random encounters, collectibles, chores and tasks you would expect. I've put off the review for SOMA because it was just so ridiculously good that I was afraid I would not be able to write a coherent review. I let it bake in the back of my mind and then played it again here recently just to see if my memory was correct or if I had done the rose-colored-glasses thing and it wouldn't hold up.

I was wrong, it held up great and I'm going to roll ahead with this review that sounds like they paid me.

SOMA is *stunningly* good. The graphics are atmospheric and lush (while being horrible - literally, horror-able). The story is cohesive and has a **really** powerful central message. The characters are diverse and interesting and are well fleshed out.

I originally played SOMA on the PS4, but I suck at 1st person games with the controller, so I really struggled with some of the action sequences. When it came out on sale on Steam I snagged it and played it that way.

Somewhere between my first play-through and the Steam one, the developers added a "safe" level of difficulty which lets you focus on story without risk of dying. I tried this out, slightly worried that the sense of menace from the first time would be lost. It was not - I was just as stressed, but it let me actually *see* the threats better and in the end I think both difficulty levels are well done.

Absolutely, go buy this game. I really cannot stress enough how good it is.

Moria was a first-class experience. The only reason it doesn’t get a full 10 out of 10 is because the late game got pretty grindy.

Aside from that, however, the entire campaign experience was pretty remarkable. Graphics were excellent, audio was immersive, and the multiplayer was rock-solid. My wife and I went through the entire campaign together and never had the slightest issue.

For the nerds out there (and I am admittedly one of them), Moria is faithful to the lore - you find notes that Gandalf left from the time the Fellowship traversed the Mines. The other creatures that you encounter are consistent with what you should find in Moria, and if they are intelligent you can listen in on their conversations and find out about the other factions you can encounter.

The game had excellent range of difficulty, so we could tune the experience to where it stayed enjoyable for our skill level.

We loved it, and truthfully will probably replay it someday.

Starfield got a lot of hate (it's only 57% positive on Steam), but I loved the hell out of it and put 332 hours into it. Solid game, and I will definitely play it again. Note that it is a heavy lift, though - so be ready to bring hefty hardware to play it. You'll note the visuals are rough at points in this recording - my little laptop's video card isn't quite up to better visuals.
