" Even on ‘potato’, the world in Cyberpunk is eye candy. Whether walking or driving, there is just a shocking amount of detail. Dart down a side street and there’s people arguing, kissing, doing deals, doing drugs, you name it. There are places where the story can drag a bit, and then you look around and go, “Whatever, it’s still worth it.” Audio is on point and is an important component. You need to pay attention to what people say to each other, especially in combat or stealth sequences. Even outside of that, it helps immersion greatly to eavesdrop on people. The controls are top-notch, and absolutely liquid. An example of how to do it properly. Gameplay won’t surprise anyone here, the standard open world design is very much on display, with side quests, main quests, games, nonsense and collectibles scattered all over the map. About the only surprise for me was how big the map actually is. It is insanely huge, and you can go anywhere. This really speaks to me, and I spent an awful lot of time in this game just exploring. Cyberpunk was actually shockingly stable, in my experience, anyway. As much grief as a lot of reviewers gave it, my own playthrough experiences have been very smooth. Bottom line, an excellent game. One hundred percent worth the price of admission. One sour note for Linux, the game did crash when trying to activate the DLC. This was a while back, so patches or other differences may be a factor. I’m considering another playthrough. If that happens, I’ll be sure to try out the DLC again and update this review with my results.
